Master Framework

The UNLOUD Method™

A patient-built framework for when your symptoms are real, your labs are “normal,” and nobody seems to be listening.

You didn't imagine your pain.

You didn't imagine the fatigue, the brain fog, the flares, the “I can't keep living like this” days.

What you're running into isn't just “a bad doctor” or “random symptoms.” It's a broken system that was never designed for complex, chronic, or invisible illness.

The UNLOUD Method™ gives you a way to move through that system on purpose.

It's a repeatable framework to:

  • Make sense of symptoms that don't make sense
  • Organize your health story so you're not starting from zero at every visit
  • Understand your labs in plain language
  • Prepare for appointments with actual scripts
  • Document what happens so you have receipts when you need them

You don't have to become a doctor.

You do deserve a way to stop being treated like you're overreacting.

  • Patient-built
  • Trauma-informed
  • Brain-fog friendly
  • Focused on chronic & invisible illness
Start Here

If you're here, you already know something is wrong

Most people don't find Unhinged N Loud™ on a good day. They land here after another appointment that went nowhere, another “your labs are normal,” another flare that made life smaller.

If any of this feels familiar, you're in the right place:

  1. 01

    I know something is wrong.

You feel it in your body. You're tired of being told it's “just stress,” “just anxiety,” or “just getting older.”

  2. 02

    My symptoms don't make sense.

One day it's joint pain. The next day it's chest tightness, gut issues, dizziness, or brain fog. Nothing fits neatly in one box.

  3. 03

I need to organize my story.

You have years of symptoms, labs, visits, and “they said it was nothing.” It's too much to hold in your head.

  4. 04

    My doctor isn't listening.

You leave appointments feeling smaller, confused, or embarrassed for even bringing it up.

  5. 05

    I need a system.

You're done guessing, Googling, and hoping the next doctor will magically “get it.”

  6. 06

    I'm ready to advocate.

You don't want to fight with every provider. You do want language, tools, and a framework so you're not walking in unarmed.

The UNLOUD Method™ was built for this exact journey.

What it is

A framework, not a vibe

The UNLOUD Method™ is the master patient advocacy framework inside the Unhinged N Loud™ ecosystem.

It's not “be more confident” or “speak up more.”

It's a structured way to move from:

“Something is wrong and nobody believes me”

to

“I understand my body, I have receipts, and I know what to say next.”

UNLOUD is how we:

  • Connect scattered symptoms into patterns
  • Turn “normal” labs into better questions
  • Prepare for appointments with clear goals and scripts
  • Document what actually happened, not what the note says happened
The Method

The UNLOUD Method™ in six moves

Each move is simple on purpose. Brain fog, pain, or fatigue shouldn't disqualify you from advocating for yourself.

Move 1UNLOUD

Understand Your Body

Your body is giving you data. We turn it into information.

You do not have to "tough it out" or minimize what you feel because a chart says you're fine. In this move, we: • Name your main symptoms in plain language • Capture the weird, "this sounds crazy but…" details • Validate what your body is telling you instead of gaslighting yourself You'll start noticing patterns like:

  • “Every time my heart races, my hands get icy.”
  • “My pain is worse 7–10 days before my period.”
  • “If I stand too long, I crash the next day.”

Use Autoimmune Clues™ and the Autoimmune Storm Map™ to see how your symptoms might connect across systems.

Move 2UNLOUD

Notice the Patterns

Flares aren't random. They're data points.

Your worst days can give you some of the best information—if you know what to look for. In this move, we: • Track flares without turning you into a full-time data-entry clerk • Watch for timing, triggers, recovery time, and early warning signs • Separate "always," "often," and "once in a while" so you don't sound "vague" in appointments You'll start saying things like:

  • “I've had 6 flares in 3 months.”
  • “They last 2–3 days and are usually triggered by heat or overactivity.”
  • “Here's what I can and can't do during a flare.”

Use the Flare Mapping Framework™ and Autoimmune Timeline™ to turn lived experience into patterns providers can't ignore.

Move 3UNLOUD

Learn Your Labs

Normal range ≠ nothing to see here.

You shouldn't need a medical degree to understand the tests you're paying for. In this move, we: • Break labs down into "what this test is looking for" in plain English • Help you note what's borderline, trending, or inconsistent • Give you questions to ask beyond "Is everything normal?" You'll move from: "They said my labs are fine" to:

  • “My ANA is borderline positive, my inflammatory markers bounce around, and this has been happening for 18 months—can we talk about what that might mean?”

Use the Patient Lab Tool to review common autoimmune labs and capture questions for your next visit.

Move 4UNLOUD

Own Your Voice

You're not “being difficult.” You're advocating for care.

You deserve to be prepared before you walk into any exam room, ER bay, or telehealth visit. In this move, we: • Clarify the primary goal of each appointment • Write questions, phrases, and boundaries ahead of time • Practice what to say when things go off track or you feel dismissed You'll walk in with:

  • “Here's my main concern today.”
  • “Here's what has changed since our last visit.”
  • “Here's what I'm hoping we can figure out together.”
  • “I'm not comfortable leaving this untreated. What else can we rule out?”
  • “Can you document in my chart that I requested X and it was declined?”

Use the SAFE Method™, Medical Gaslight Cycle™, and Advocacy Toolkit for scripts, letters, and messages you can customize.

Move 5UNLOUD

Use Root Cause Thinking

Your body is a system, not a collection of random parts.

When you've been bounced between specialties, it's easy to feel like each symptom lives in its own silo. In this move, we: • Look at how your nervous system, immune system, hormones, gut, joints, and energy levels interact • Ask "What could connect these things?" instead of "What single test explains everything?" • Help you bring reasonable, non-alarmist questions to your providers You'll start framing it like:

  • “I'm noticing POTS-like symptoms, autoimmune markers, and hormonal swings. Is there a connective tissue or autoimmune explanation we're missing?”

Use the Autoimmune Storm Map™ and Autoimmune Clues™ to visualize how your symptoms might be part of the same storm—not separate little dramas.

Move 6UNLOUD

Document Everything

If it's not documented, the system acts like it didn't happen.

You've probably already learned this the hard way. In this move, we: • Capture dates, symptoms, flares, test results, referrals, medication changes, and denials • Save secure copies of key records and messages • Keep a running log of "what they said" versus "what happened" You'll be able to say:

  • “On March 4 you noted that my symptoms were functional. Since then I've had 4 ER visits, 2 syncopal episodes, and worsening labs. I'd like to revisit that assessment.”

Use the Advocacy Toolkit templates and the Autoimmune Timeline™ to build a documentation trail that backs up your story.

Ecosystem

The UNLOUD Method™ is the center. Here's everything orbiting it.

You don't need ten different systems. You need one framework with the right support tools.

  • Autoimmune Storm Map™ helps you see how symptoms across your body may be connected.
  • Medical Gaslight Cycle™ gives language to the patterns of dismissal so you can respond safely.
  • Autoimmune Timeline™ turns your history into a clear, chronological story.
  • Flare Mapping Framework™ helps you track when and how your flares hit.
  • SAFE Method™ supports the “what do I actually say?” part in hard conversations.
  • Patient Lab Tool helps you make sense of lab results in plain language.
  • Advocacy Toolkit turns all of this into emails, letters, and scripts you can actually send.

You can start with the UNLOUD Method™ and plug in these frameworks as you go. Or, if one area is screaming louder than the others right now, start there and let it lead you back here.

Community

The method is powerful. The community makes it sustainable.

Advocating for yourself inside a broken system is exhausting. You don't have to do it alone.

The Autoimmune Sisterhood is where we:

  • Share what's actually happening in our bodies and appointments
  • Workshop real scripts using the UNLOUD Method™
  • Celebrate wins that would look “small” to outsiders but mean everything to us
  • Hold each other through the crash days and the “I can't keep doing this” weeks

You bring your story. We bring frameworks, language, and people who don't need you to prove that you're sick.

FAQ

Questions about the UNLOUD Method™

01What exactly is the UNLOUD Method™?

The UNLOUD Method™ is a six-move framework for people living with chronic or invisible illness who need a way to make sense of their symptoms, understand their labs, prepare for appointments, and document what happens. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or replace medical care. It helps you show up to your care with more clarity, language, and structure.

02Is this only for autoimmune disease?

No. The method was built with autoimmune, chronic illness, and invisible illness in mind, especially when symptoms are complex or overlapped. If you're dealing with long-term health issues, repeated dismissal, or "everything looks normal on paper," the UNLOUD Method™ can help you organize what's going on, even if you don't have a clear label yet.

03Can I use the UNLOUD Method™ before I have a diagnosis?

Yes. Many people start UNLOUD before they have a name for what's happening. The framework focuses on understanding your body, noticing patterns, learning your labs, owning your voice, using root cause thinking, and documenting everything—none of which require a confirmed diagnosis to start.

04How is the UNLOUD Method™ different from the Advocacy Toolkit?

The UNLOUD Method™ is the framework. The Advocacy Toolkit is one of the tools that helps you apply it. Think of UNLOUD as the big picture and decision-making process, and the Toolkit as the place you grab ready-made scripts, letters, and templates when you're ready to act.

05Where should I start if my doctor isn't listening?

If you're in active gaslighting or dismissal, start with Moves 1, 2, 4, and 6. Use the method to clarify what you're experiencing, document what has already happened, and prepare what you want to say next. Pair this with the Medical Gaslight Cycle™ and the Advocacy Toolkit so you're not improvising alone in the room.

06Can this replace my doctor or specialist?

No. The UNLOUD Method™ is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It's an educational framework to help you understand your own experience more clearly and participate in your care more actively. You're encouraged to bring any questions raised by this framework to qualified healthcare professionals.

07What if I don't have the energy to do all six moves?

You're not expected to. The method is designed to be flexible. On a crash day, Move 6 might simply be noting "severe fatigue" and "needed help with basic tasks." On a better day, you might work on your timeline or prep for an upcoming appointment. The Quickstart Guide will help you pick the first small step that makes sense for your energy level.

Next Steps

What do you need most right now?

You don't have to earn the right to be taken seriously.

You don't have to have the perfect words.

You don't have to “prove” how sick you are.

You do deserve a system that helps you walk into every appointment less alone.

Start with the move that feels possible today. We'll build the rest with you.
